MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Southern States Athletic Conference announced Tuesday that Loyola Wolf Pack senior Hippolyte de Preville was named SSAC Men's Tennis Player of the Week.Â

This is de Preville's second SSAC honor of the season, as he also garnered the award on March 17. It's also the third conference weekly award of his Loyola career, as he won once last season.

Loyola played the University of Mobile in the Pack's only match of the week. The Wolf Pack earned a 7-0 sweep, marking the first ever men's tennis sweep for the Wolf Pack against the Rams.Â

For Loyola, de Preville played on the top court in singles for the second time this season. The senior was dominant in singles, winning 6-1, 6-3 over the Rams' Callum Dickson, who entered the matchup ranked No. 52 in the NAIA in singles. In doubles, de Preville won his second match in a row playing alongside Jett Nguyen on the third doubles court, beating Andres Riveros-Tejada and Luis Perez 6-4.Â

Overall this season, de Preville is one of five players with six wins for the Pack, sporting a 6-2 singles record. He's also 5-3 in doubles competition. Winning matches with Nguyen and Patrick Teuteberg.Â

The Wolf Pack will close out the regular season with a road matchup against conference leaders William Carey. The match is scheduled for Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.Â
