KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Loyola Wolf Pack men's tennis team remains just outside the national rankings, receiving votes but falling one spot shy of the Top 25 in Wednesday's NAIA Men's Tennis Coaches' Poll.

Since the last rankings period, Loyola (5-3, 2-1 SSAC) has gone 3-1, including 2-1 in Southern States Athletic Conference matches.

The SSAC continues to have two ranked teams: No. 8 William Carey and No. 25 Loyola. [Full NAIA rankings list]

The Wolf Pack earned a 7-0 win over NCAA Division-II school Drury University on March 13 before beginning conference play last week. The team had mixed results in Montgomery at the SSAC Roundup, beating Blue Mountain and Tennessee Southern 5-2 but falling 4-3 in an upset against Abraham Baldwin.

Singles competition has been consistently successful for the Pack this season, as five different Wolf Pack players have five wins. Hippolyte de Preville, Samuel Marin, and Jett Nguyen all own 5-2 singles records, while Alfredo Gallegos and Sam Izrael are each 5-3. The only freshman in the lineup, Luca Abati, has three wins this season and is 3-3 overall.

Gallegos and Izrael are currently ranked No. 21 in the NAIA in doubles and have a 6-2 overall record. Their only two losses are to NCAA D-I College of Charleston and NAIA No. 12 Dillard. The team of Abati and Marin has been successful since debuting against Charleston on March 1. They're 4-2 overall at the No. 2 position. Mainly at No. 3 doubles, de Preville has a 4-3 record, and three of those wins came with freshman Patrick Teuteberg

Loyola will close out the regular season over the next week. The Senior Day match against Mobile at home will take place tomorrow at noon at the City Park Tennis Center. Then, the Pack will travel to William Carey on April 1 for a match at 2 p.m.
