No. 18 Loyola plays final round of PDI Shootout Tuesday

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. – The Loyola University New Orleans women's golf team played the final round of the Keiser University-hosted PDI Shootout on Tuesday, finishing the tournament in 10th place (+90) out of 15 competing teams. The tournament field featured six total NAIA Top 25 teams, including the Wolf Pack's 18th ranking, and Loyola beat out No. 25 Rocky Mountain, which finished 12th. 
 

No. 2 Keiser won the event with a 23-over score, followed by No. 5 Marian (+27) and No. 6 Indiana Wesleyan (+45) in second and third place, respectively. 
 

The Loyola women's golf team will conclude its fall schedule next week when it participates in the Carey Collegiate in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. The tournament will be held at  Canebrake Country Club on Monday, Sept. 21 (36 holes), and Tuesday, Sept. 22 (18 holes).
 

Sarah Meral led the Wolf Pack this week by finishing in a tie for 13th place (+10) after carding a 75 on Tuesday. She started her third round on the ninth tee and was at 1-under after her first five holes. A couple of bogeys moved the senior to 1-over before returning to even par with a birdie on the par-4 second hole, which was her 12th hole of the day. She carded five straight pars after that before finding some trouble on her final hole of the day. 
 

Anni Eberhardt moved up a couple of spots on the individual leaderboard into a tie for 35th (+19) with a third-round 77. The freshman had 11 pars and a birdie on her card to keep her score low. Freshman Alice Bille finished tied for 52nd (+27) after shooting an 83 on Tuesday. Senior Evie Sisk had her best round of the tournament, putting together a 7-over round (79) to move up into a tie for 68th (+34). Shauna Seifried rounded out Loyola's scoring in 83rd place (+53).
