MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Jace Luckoski, a distance runner for the Loyola Wolf Pack, was named to the Southern States Athletic Conference Track and Field Scholar-Athlete Team this week, making it two straight years for the junior. Luckoski was also named the SSAC Cross Country Scholar-Athlete of the Year in the fall to add to his accolades.Â

Combined with his cross country honors, he's made a combined four appearances on an SSAC Scholar-Athlete Team.Â

To be eligible, student-athletes must be a sophomore or above in both academic and athletic standing, must be starters or important reserves, have at least a 3.3 cumulative GPA, and have competed in 50 percent of competitions. Graduate students and transfers must have completed one semester at the school.Â
Â
Luckoski has a 3.98 GPA as a math major.Â

The Belle Chasse native had two podium finishes at the SSAC Championship last month, taking third in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:00.03 and helping the 4x800-meter relay team to a second-place finish with a time of 8:02.24. He ran outdoor personal-bests in the 3000-meter steeplechase (9:49.74), 800-meter run (1:57.56), 3000-meter run (8:57.06), and 1,500-meter run (3:59.04) this season, as well as indoor personal-bests in the 1,000-meter run (2:34.58) and mile run (4:20.65). He currently holds individual program records in the 1,500 (outdoor), 3,000 (outdoor), 1,000 (indoor), and mile (indoor).Â
