NACOGDOCHES, Texas — Men's distance runners Connor Meigs and Jace Luckoski set Loyola University New Orleans track and field new-era records Thursday evening at Stephen F. Austin's Carl Kight Invitational.

Meigs ran the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 9 minutes, 44.51 seconds to break the Loyola record for the second consecutive meet. Meigs set the previous mark of 9:47.55 at the Belhaven Invitational 12 days earlier. Meigs placed eighth out of 19 runners.

Luckoski ran 1,500 meters in 3:59.04 to break Hayden Ricca's school mark of 4:00.99 from 2021. Luckoski placed 19th out of 69 runners.

The 1,500 times of Loyola's Dylan Brown (4:02.23) and Aubrey Gibson (4:02.24) entered the new-era record book at No. 4 and 5, respectively. Also entering the book was Jacob Kennedy at No. 4 in the 10,000 (33:25.44). Kennedy has three of Loyola's five fastest times in that event.

Both Wolf Pack teams will compete Friday and Saturday in the Southern Miss Invitational at Hattiesburg, Miss.
