ASHEVILLE, N.C. — Sophomore Caleb Curry set a Loyola University New Orleans record and placed 10th on Wednesday in the preliminaries of the men's 400-meter hurdles at the NAIA Track and Field Outdoor National Championships.

Curry's 52.22 broke his Loyola record of 52.23 from the New Orleans Triangular on May 3, 2025. Curry has the top six Loyola times in this event. Curry was five-hundredths of a second from advancing to Friday's final.

Curry placed 12th at NAIA nationals a year ago with 53.53.

James Kerr of the University of British Columbia led all qualifiers with 50.21. Twenty-nine hurdlers competed over four heats.
