NEW ORLEANS – Loyola University New Orleans student-athlete Anthony Nodolski received one of Loyola University New Orleans' highest honors - the Ignatian Award - at the spring commencement earlier this month.
The Ignatian Award winners, Loyola's highest award for students, have distinguished themselves by their holistic involvement in the life of the university – representing Loyola with honor and distinction, maintaining a distinguished grade point average, living a strong faith commitment, demonstrating examples of service for and with others, and showing high regard for Ignatian, Jesuit values. Ignatian Award recipients are chosen by a committee of faculty, students, and staff from nominations submitted by the Loyola community.
"Anthony Nodolski has consistently challenged himself and inspired those around him," Lumen Vera, Esports Head Coach, said. "As the first student to receive an esports scholarship, he helped build the foundation of the program's culture and community. His commitment to esports mirrored his engagement across Loyola, where he became a reliable leader and positive influence. Through his dedication and service, Anthony made a lasting impact on both the university and the esports program."
Nodolski graduated Magna Cum Laude with a 4.0 GPA and a degree in finance. Nodolski's contributions to Loyola Esports and the broader university community made him a standout recipient of this distinguished honor. Throughout his time at Loyola, Nodolski played an instrumental role in the growth and success of the university's esports program. He was a part of back-to-back Sun Conference Championships, playing as Olimar in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
