Esports SSBU drops two matches this week

NEW ORLEANS – The Loyola University New Orleans Esports' Super Smash Bros. Ultimate team played two matches on Thursday, losing both contests against the Florida International University and George Mason University programs in NACE competition. Coming off a Sun Conference title in SSBU last week, the Wolf Pack is now 5-2 in NACE action. 
 

Against FIU, Samuel Spiegel eliminated the first fighter, Little Mac, but the Robin fighter eliminated the final three Wolf Pack fighters to take a 1-0 lead in the match over the Wolf Pack. In the second crew battle, FIU's Mario fighter took six stocks from Wolf Pack fighters. After Spiegel stepped in and finished off Mario, Little Mac ended the match in Florida International's favor. 
 

Against GMU, Malachi Lee got Loyola off to a good start by taking out the Ken and Min Min fighters, but George Mason's R.O.B. character took out the final three fighters for Loyola to go up 1-0 in the match. In the second crew battle, it was GMU's Min Min character that gave Loyola trouble. After Anthony Nodolski defeated R.O.B. in the first fight, Min Min eliminated Loyola's next three fighters before George Mason's Ken fighter took out the last to win the match.
