Beach volleyball remains just outside of NAIA top 10

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – With the beach volleyball regular season wrapping up within the next week, the NAIA released another Top 10 Rating on Wednesday, and the Loyola Wolf Pack continues to receive votes just outside the top 10.

The Wolf Pack garnered 25 points in the poll, the second-most among teams not ranked in the top 10, trailing only College of Idaho. Loyola continues to be one of four Sun Conference teams receiving national recognition, as No. 5 New College of Florida and No. 6 Ave Maria remained in the top 10 while Mobile received some votes.

Entering the final week of the regular season, the Pack's overall record is 11-3, including an 8-2 mark in Sun Conference play. Loyola has won six straight matches, including sweeps of Truett McConnell, Spartanburg Methodist, and Brenau, followed by a pair of 3-2 wins against Mobile and William Carey last weekend. 

Loyola has continued to see strong production from its pairs throughout the lineup, with two sporting double-digit win totals. The No. 4 duo of Amaya Bazemore and Isabella Rodrigue remains undefeated at 11-0 this season, including a 10-0 record in conference play. The No. 2 pair of Samantha Guillotte and Kiarelis Martinez owns a 10-3 overall record. 

The No. 1 pair of Madeline Corrall and Kala Emanuelli has a 7-5 record this season, while the No. 3 pairing of Isis Harink and Juliet Petruzelli is 6-2 overall. Recent additions to the lineup Mary Dinegar and Belén Puche Laguna have won all four of their matches. 

Loyola is scheduled to play its final home matches of the season on Thursday at Elmwood's White Sands Volleyball Courts as the Wolf Pack takes on NCAA D-I squad Nicholls in a double dual match. The first match against Nicholls is scheduled for 1 p.m. Then, the Sun Conference Championship begins next week, with Loyola facing Webber in the first round on April 10.
