CLINTON, Miss. — Loyola University New Orleans opened the 2026 men's track and field outdoor season Saturday with a sixth-place team finish in the MC Spring Classic.
Â
The Wolf Pack scored 40 points — 10 by Jace Luckoski in winning the 3,000-meter steeplechase — in a meet that included schools from the NAIA and all three NCAA divisions. Luckoski's time was 9 minutes, 55.78 seconds, a program record.Â
Â
Loyola also got second-place finishes from Connor Meigs in the steeplechase (personal-best 9:57.90) and Dylan Brown in the 1,500 (4:10.59). Aubrey Gibson (4:10.79) placed third in the 1,500. Meigs joined Luckoski as the only two Wolf Pack student-athletes to run a sub-10-minute steeplechase
Â
Joseph Medina (1:57.53) and Carter Dural (1:58.61) ran personal bests in the 800.
Â
Loyola's women did not compete. Both Loyola teams will compete next Saturday in the Andy Thiel Season Opener at Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond. That meet will start at 9 a.m.Â
