ROME, Ga. – The No. 6 Loyola Wolf Pack women's tennis team finished up the 2026 ITA NAIA National Women's Team Indoor Championship on Sunday with a match against fellow Southern States Athletic Conference member No. 4 William Carey. It was the first matchup between the teams since the 2025 SSAC Championship final. The Crusaders, who returned every player from the 2025 final, won in a 4-0 sweep.
William Carey began the match with a quick doubles win, followed by a much closer win on court 1. Adele Fereres and Micaela Ponce fought back from down 5-2 to tie the match at 5-5, but Carey's team of Victoria Vieten and Isabella Lechuga, who ranked No. 10 in the NAIA following the fall schedule, won the next two games to clinch the doubles point.
The Crusaders won on courts 1, 4, and 6 in singles to take the match 4-0.
In the matches that went unfinished, Adele Fereres had just entered a third set after winning four straight games in the second, and Avery Frierson had just begun a first-set tiebreak before the match was stopped.
Loyola (1-3) is set to return to the court on Thursday, February 19, to face No. 10 LSU Alexandria. The team's first home match of the season is scheduled to be played at the City Park Tennis Center.
