ROME, Ga. – After officially opening the spring schedule on Tuesday, the No. 6 Loyola Wolf Pack women's tennis team began play at the 2026 ITA NAIA National Women's Team Indoor Championship on Friday, falling in the first round to No. 5 Tennessee Wesleyan, 4-0.
Loyola (0-2) qualified for the national indoor tournament as one of the top seven teams from last season, marking the program's first appearance in the ITA Indoor Championship.
Tennessee Wesleyan opened the match with 6-0 sweeps of courts 1 and 2 in doubles. The Bulldogs, who return several players from their NAIA National Championship semifinalist team last season, also won in straight sets on singles courts 1, 2, and 5 to clinch the match. No Wolf Pack players were able to take a set in the other matches.
The Wolf Pack will continue play in the consolation bracket of the tournament on Saturday.
