KANSAS CITY, Mo. – After a challenging start to the 2026 spring schedule, the Loyola Wolf Pack women's tennis team has dropped two spots to No. 8 in the season's first NAIA Women's Tennis Coaches' Top 25 Poll.

The Wolf Pack played four different matches last week against highly ranked opponents, winning one against then-No. 13 Holy Cross, 4-1. Holy Cross moved up to No. 9 in the national rankings, meaning every match this season has been played against a top-10 team.

The Pack's losses were to No. 9 Xavier, No. 5 Tennessee Wesleyan, and No. 4 William Carey. All teams remain highly ranked, with Xavier moving up to No. 7 after defeating Loyola, TWU moving to No. 3, and Carey falling back to No. 5.

Loyola and William Carey are the only two ranked teams from the Southern States Athletic Conference, though Mobile is receiving votes. [Full NAIA Top 25 list]

Adele Fereres, Micaela Ponce, and Avrora Volkova have all recorded singles victories so far this season. The Wolf Pack also got doubles wins from the teams of Avery Frierson/Sofia Amodu and Presha Shanthamoorthi/Bianca Harris

Loyola's women's tennis team is set to return to the court on Thursday, February 19, to face yet another top 10 team, No. 10 LSU Alexandria, at the City Park Tennis Center. This will be the first meeting between the Wolf Pack and the Generals since the 2021-22 season.
