Loyola hires Ed Cassiere as assistant SID

NEW ORLEANS — The Loyola University New Orleans Athletics Department announced Tuesday the hiring of Ed Cassiere as assistant sports information director. 
 

Cassiere joins Loyola after 19 years as sports publicist at city rival Xavier University of Louisiana, where he won 38 awards, three for conference SID of the year and three consecutive firsts for features in the NAIA's Dr. W. Jack Bell Writing Contest. From 2011-15, Cassiere's 14 awards in that contest led all.
 

Cassiere was SID at the University of New Orleans from 1987-2000, and he spent one year (1986-87) as assistant SID at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. 
 

Cassiere joins a staff that consists of Assistant Athletic Director, Communications Camal Petro — the 2021-22 NAIA National Sports Information Director of the Year — and Assistant Sports Information Director/Play-by-Play Broadcaster Jason Quigley.
