Two Wolf Pack pairs earn AVCA Top Flight awards

NEW ORLEANS – The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) released the list of 2025 Top Flight award winners on Friday, and two of Loyola's beach volleyball pairs were recognized. 

The Wolf Pack's No. 2 pair of Samantha Guillotte and Rosemary Vanney Lane and the No. 4 pair of Amaya Bazemore and Isabella Rodrigue were honored. 

This is the seventh year of the AVCA Top Flight program, which recognizes beach volleyball pairs who compete in at least 15 matches together at a specific flight and win at least 75 percent of their matches. This year's list includes 88 pairs representing 45 schools from all levels of collegiate beach volleyball. [Full 2025 list]

Both Guillotte and Lane have been named to one of the Sun Conference All-Conference teams in each of the last two seasons, earning First Team honors this year, and they now add the AVCA award to their resume this year. The pair went 15-6 overall this year at the second flight, including a team-best 10-2 in conference matches. 

Bazemore and Rodrigue also earned All-Conference honors, making the SUN's Second Team. They put together a 15-6 overall record this season, 9-3 in conference play. They were also the Sun Conference Pair of the Week after playing well at Nicholls' Bayou Battle in the middle of a seven-match winning streak. 

The Wolf Pack finished the season in the Sun Conference Championship semifinal with a loss to top-seeded Mobile. Loyola posted a new program record in victories this season with a 14-7 overall record. The team was voted just two spots outside the top 10 in the national rankings in the postseason NAIA Coaches' Poll.
