Wolf Pack plays second round at SSAC Championship

GREENVILLE, Ala. – The Loyola University New Orleans men's golf team continued with the second round of the SSAC Championship on Wednesday, as the Wolf Pack ended Day 2 in seventh place out of 10 teams. The Pack collectively carded a team score of 311 (+23) to drop a couple of spots on the team leaderboard. 
 

No. 3 Dalton State leads the championship as the only team under par. The Roadrunners have a 36-hole total of 574 (-2), and they're ahead of No. 17 William Carey (+4) by six strokes and No. 18 Faulkner (+13) by 15.   
 

Peter Weirich shot a team-low 75 (+3) on Wednesday, moving up a couple of spots into a tie for 14th (+5). The freshman started his round with three bogeys through four holes, but an eagle on the par-5 seventh helped him right the ship. Weirich added a birdie on the 10th to move to even-par, then a 3-over finish during his final five holes brought him to this 3-over score. 
 

Cameron Bruce maintained a position in the Top 10 of the leaderboard, checking in at eighth (+1) after his second-round 78 (+6). Cole Haase subbed in for Wednesday's round and also shot a 78 to contribute to Loyola's scoring. Cristobal Salome and Arthur Mijic are in 38th (+12) and 47th (+18) place, respectively, after rounds of 80 and 83.
