GULF SHORES, Ala. – The Loyola Wolf Pack's third beach volleyball season ended Saturday in the semifinals of The Sun Conference Championship.
The third seed in the tournament, Loyola beat sixth seed New College of Florida on Friday (3-2) and seventh seed Ave Maria Saturday morning (3-0) to set up a semifinal matchup against the University of Mobile, the regular-season SUN champions. The top-seeded Rams knocked out the Wolf Pack from the tournament with a 3-1 win.
Loyola's season ends with a 14-7 overall record, the most team wins in the three-year history of the program.
The No. 2 pair of Samantha Guillotte and Rosemary Vanney Lane won both of their matches in straight sets on Saturday to finish the season 15-6. The No. 4 pairing of Amaya Bazemore and Isabella Rodrigue also posted a 15-6 record, going 1-1 Saturday.
Neither of the Saturday matches finished for the No. 1 pair of Madeline Corrall and Kala Emanuelli, though they did take a set in both matches. They finished the year third on the team in wins with a 13-6 record. The No. 3 team of Mary Dinegar and Juliet Petruzelli were up a set in the Ave Maria match but lost against Mobile to end the year at 11-6. The court 5 duo of Kiarelis Martinez and Belén Puche Laguna got their 10th win of the year in the first match of the day, meaning all five Wolf Pack pairs got to at least 10 wins in 2025.
