LAURINBURG, N.C. – The Loyola Wolf Pack finished up a weekend of four Sun Conference beach volleyball matches hosted by St. Andrews University on Saturday. The Pack lost 3-2 to Truett McConnell but bounced back with a 4-1 win against St. Andrews to officially reach double-digit wins on the season.

After going 3-1 over the weekend, the Wolf Pack's record now stands at 10-3 on the season, 8-2 in conference play. Just 13 matches into the year, the team's 10 wins are tied for the most in a season in the program's three-year history.

Loyola's wins against Truett McConnell came from its No. 1 and No. 2 pairs. Madeline Corrall and Kala Emanuelli won the first set 21-19, lost the second, then won the third 15-12. Samantha Guillotte and Rosemary Vanney Lane triumphed in straight sets, 21-18, 21-10. TMU came out on top on the other three courts, with No. 4 and No. 5's second sets being decided by just two points each.

The second match of the day went a lot more smoothly, with all four Wolf Pack wins coming in straight sets. Corrall and Emanuelli won 21-12, 21-13 to secure their 10th win as a pair this season. Guillotte and Lane also claimed their 10th win of the year, 21-16, 21-9. Both pairs are 10-3 overall 8-2 in conference play this season.

Mary Dinegar and Juliet Petruzelli's six-match win streak came to an end in the first match of the day, but they started out strong against St. Andrews, winning the first set 21-9 and the second 21-19 to move to 9-4 overall, 8-2 in conference. On court 5, Kiarelis Martinez and Belén Puche Laguna's match was the closest of the five, but they still won it in two sets, 21-17, 21-19 to improve to 8-5 this season.

The Wolf Pack will take a quick break from conference action to compete among NAIA and NCAA programs in Nicholls State University's Beach Bayou Battle, which will be held on March 28-29 in Thibodaux, La. Loyola will play Texas Wesleyan and Mobile out of the NAIA and Nicholls and McNeese State from NCAA Division I.
