COHUTTA, Ga. – The Loyola University New Orleans men's golf team wrapped up the Alice Lloyd Eagle Invitational on Tuesday, playing through more cold and wet conditions during the second round of play. The Wolf Pack finished third out of 12 teams with a tournament score of 627 (+51), but Cristobal Salome was the highlight of the day after a strong finish to his second round.
Salome birdied the final hole to jump into a tie for first with two other golfers, forcing a playoff. The sophomore ended up losing the playoff on the second hole, but he finished the week with a 148 (+4) tournament score. The Santa Cruz, Bolivia, native started his day with a bogey before moving back to even par three holes later. He stayed at that score until a bogey on his ninth hole, then another bogey on his 14th hole moved him to 2-over. After three pars, a birdie on his 18th hole finished his second-round 73 (+1) score, allowing him to compete in the playoff.

Playing as an individual, Oliver White had the second-best score among Wolf Pack golfers, carding a second-round 75 to shoot up the leaderboard into a tie for 29th. The freshman was 2-over after his first nine holes, then moved to 4-over with four to play, but a birdie and three straight pars helped close out his round with a 75 (+3). He had a tournament score of 163 (+19).
Freshman Leon Mishkin shot a 78 (+6) on Tuesday to move up to a tie for 19th. His round featured 15 pars, but a tough four-hole stretch moved him to 6-over. Mishkin finished the week with a score of 159 (+15). Peter Weirich was next for Loyola, placing 24th with a 36-hole score of 160 (+16), and Arsenios Kalogerakis and Miles Russell finished back-to-back in 28th (+18) and 29th (+19), respectively.
