Two Men’s Track and Field athletes honored by SSAC

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – On Thursday, the Wolf Pack Men's Track and Field program was honored when Braddock Lord and Connor Meigs were announced as members of the Men's Track and Field Scholar-Athlete Team.

With the 2024 outdoor season in the books, Lord has made the SSAC Scholar-Athlete Team for the third-straight year, earning a 3.61 GPA as a chemistry and biochemistry major. At the SSAC Championships, the senior set a program record in the 110-meter hurdles with a sixth-place finish and a time of 16.10. Lord holds four of the top five times in program history in the 110-meter hurdles. During the indoor season, Lord set a program record in the 60-meter hurdles as the SSAC Championships, earning a time of 8.97. Off the track, Lord added an SSAC All-Academic award during the indoor season.
 

Meigs had a strong season in his sophomore year, both on and off the track. Making his debut as a scholar-athlete, the music industry major, Meigs ended the year with a 3.90 GPA, tied for the second-best GPA among members of the scholar-athlete team. Meigs also became an SSAC All-Academic team member in the indoor season. He also set a top five record with his performance in the 10,000-meter run at the Fast Break Athletics Invitational. Meigs ended the race with a time of 34:47.16, the fifth-best time in the Loyola record book. At the SSAC Indoor Championships, Meigs added a personal-best time of 16:19.92 in the 5,000-meter run.
