Indoor Track and Field awards announced Wednesday

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Southern States Athletic Conference announced its Indoor Track and Field postseason awards on Wednesday with a total of 17 Wolf Pack student-athletes earning All-Conference honors from last week's SSAC Championships. Loyola had two members on the Champions of Character team and fifteen earned Barnes & Noble College All-Academic honors.
 

Renee Anderson was selected for First Team All-SSAC after a first-place performance at the SSAC Championships. The sophomore threw for a distance of 12.25 meters in the shot put, over 0.70 meters ahead of second place.
 

Carter Dural, Joseph Medina, Bryce Darensbourg, and Mason Mack earned First Team All-Conference with a victory in the 4x800-meter relay. Loyola's relay squad raced for a time of 8:09.29, the second-best spot in the Wolf Pack record book.
 

In the distance medley, Jace Luckoski, Dallas Hughes, Medina, and Jacob Kennedy got a gold finish to get First Team All-Conference honors. The distance medley team broke a program record with a finish of 10:33.94.
 

Jasmine Martinez earned two Second Team All-SSAC awards with second-place finishes in the mile run and the 5,000-meter run. The graduate student posted times of 5:36.66 in the mile run and 19:40.05 in the 5,000-meter race at the conference championships.
 

Tenosh Landry leaped a height of 1.57 meters in the high jump, earning her second place. Landry's 1.57-meter jump achieved a spot on the SSAC's Second Team.
 

After earning a First Team nod in the men's distance medley, Kennedy added a Second Team All-Conference award with second place in the 3,000-meter run, completing the race with an 8:51.60 time, the third-best mark in program history.
 

Madison Ackerman earned Third Team All-Conference with a third-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles. The freshman ended the race with a 9.90 time, the fifth-best spot in Loyola's record book.
 

Martinez added a Third Team All-Conference award with a third-place finish in the 3,000-meter run. The Shawnee, Oklahoma, native logged a time of 10:58.66 in the event, the best time in program history.
 

Kaitlyn Becnel claimed a spot on the SSAC's Third Team with a third-place finish in the high jump. Becnel recorded a jump of 1.57 meters to receive the fourth indoor All-Conference nod of her career.
 

Jordyn Minor posted a 5.60-meter jump to qualify for the long jump at the NAIA National Championships. Minor's third-place performance got her Third Team All-Conference honors.
 

In the shot put, Destiny Clarkston logged a distance of 10.71 meters. Clarkston notched a bronze finish for a spot on the SSAC's Third Team All-Conference list. 
 

In addition to making First Team All-Conference, Anderson's third-place performance in the weight throw earned her Third Team honors. Anderson recorded a distance of 11.28 meters.
 

After a distance medley that got him First Team All-Conference, Luckoski received a Third Team All-SSAC nod with a third-place finish of 4:31.09 in the mile run, the fifth-best all-time mark by a Loyola runner.
 

Caleb Curry, Ollie Brumfield IV, Darensbourg, and Hughes earned third place in the 4x400-meter relay. The team posted the best time in program history of 3:19.06, while also getting Third Team All-Conference.
 

Elijah Karn, Luckoski, Medina, Connor Meigs, and Bryant Wilson were the five Loyola men on the All-Academic Team. Anderson, Kyli Baker, Becnel, Sarah Haas, Holly Hedrick, Madison Leishman, Martinez, Emma Meneses, Minor, and Madison Reado brought Loyola's count to 10 for the women on the All-Academic Team. On the Champions of Character Team, Hughes represented the Wolf Pack men while Anderson represented the Loyola women.
