NEW ORLEANS – The Loyola University New Orleans men's and women's track and field programs competed in New Orleans' City Park on Friday, and many notable things took place for the Wolf Pack. Loyola is set to be back in action on Friday, Feb. 13, at the Samford Bulldog Invitational in Birmingham, Alabama.

NAIA National Championship Qualifier

  • Tenosh Landry was the highlight of the day for the Wolf Pack, setting a new indoor high jump program record with a mark of 1.69 meters. She won the event on her last jump, and her jump was good enough to lock up an automatic qualifier to the NAIA Indoor National Championships. The jump is also tied for the fourth-best jump in the NAIA this indoor season.

Program Record

  • Jenna Galeas recorded a jump of 10.82 meters in the triple jump on Friday, and that was good enough to set a new program-best mark by a third of a meter. Her previous personal best was 10.37 meters at last year's SSAC Championships.

Program's Record Book

  • Ollie Brumfield IV continues to leave a mark on the program record in his young collegiate career, making changes to the 60-meter hurdles and 200-meter dash on Friday. His 8.87 time in the hurdles was the second-best time in program history, only coming in behind his own school record time of 8.59 set at last year's SSAC Championships. Brumfield's 22.51 time in the 200-meter race was the fourth-fastest time in program history, and it's a new personal-best for the sophomore, who cracks into his sixth different event category in the program's record book.

  • Joseph Medina now owns the Top 3 best times in the 800-meter race after Friday. His time of 1:59.35 went down as the second-best time in program history, only being surpassed by his own school record time of 1:58.62.

  • Richard Magann notched the third-best weight throw mark in program history with a distance of 12.92 meters. Three of the Top 5 best marks belong to the senior, including the school-record throw of 13.10 meters.

  • Jordyn Minor continues to dominate the long jump portion of the program's record book, as her jump of 5.56 meters on Friday will go down as the fourth-best indoor jump in program history. She now owns the Top 4 jumps for the Wolf Pack women's track and field program.

  • Leila Santana etched her name in the program's record book for the 400-meter race, running a time of 1:01.20 for the fourth-fastest time. She becomes the first student-athlete since 2017 to make a mark in that indoor category, and she's only one second away from the school record.

  • Madison Ackerman topped her previous personal best time in the 60-meter hurdles by .02 of a second. Her time of 9.88 replaces her old fifth-best time in program history.

  • Last week, the women's 4x400-meter relay team ran the third-fastest time in the program's record books, and they did it again on Friday. The team of Santana, Madison Reado, Sophia Freeze and Caitlyn Summers ran a 4:30.81.

Personal best

  • Connor Meigs didn't run the indoor mile race a ton throughout his career, but his time of 4:44.69 on Friday bested his previous personal record by 11 seconds.

  • Madison Reado ran a 1:05.05 in the 400-meter race, just beating her previous best indoor time of 1:05.60.

  • Emma Meneses placed first on Friday with the first sub-six-minute mile of her indoor career.

  • Madison Ackerman's triple jump mark of 10.23 meters set a new personal record for the sophomore.

Season Best

  • Landon Dixon's 600-meter time of 1:25.07 narrowly beat his previous season-best time of 1:25.27 set in December.

  • Daniel Miller ran a 5:01.08 in the mile to easily top his time of of 5:12.34 last week at LSU's Bayou Bengal.

  • Jaden Thomas also ran better this week in the 200 meters, shaving 0.5 seconds off his time from last week. He ran a 23.33 on Friday compared to a 23.81 at LSU.

  • Caitlyn Summers has greatly improved her mile time this season, running a 6:13.26 for a new season best.
