MOBILE, Ala. – After the Wolf Pack won twice to begin the 2024 NAIA Women's Tennis National Championship, Loyola's season ended Thursday with a quarterfinal loss in a tough match against top-seeded Georgia Gwinnett College.

Loyola will finish the season at 12-8 overall, tying for the second-most wins in a season in program history.

Before running into the seven-time defending champions in the quarters, the Wolf Pack made more history this season. The team beat three teams ranked in the top 10 during the season, including a second round upset of No. 4 SCAD Savannah to advance to the team's first national quarterfinal. The Pack also had a record five players earn All-Conference honors this season.

In doubles, Adele Fereres and Chloe Henderson had match point in their court 3 match, up 5-4, but Gwinnett closed out wins on the other two courts before their match could finish.

Singles was all Gwinnett, as they won matches on courts 5, 4, 2 and 1 to wrap up the match.

Fifth year senior Mathilde Camus

"I'm very proud of this team that I've been a part of for the past five years. The 2024 season comes to an end, and although it's bittersweet, I know there's a lot more to come for this team."

Fifth year senior Fatima Vasquez

"I'm really proud of the team, every single one of the girls. It's been a wonderful five years. I'm just happy to have been a part of this amazing team. I'm obviously sad that it's over, but I'm excited for what's coming next. Geaux Pack."
