Beach volleyball drops two against Nicholls

KENNER, La. – The Wolf Pack faced defeat twice against Division-I opponent Nicholls State University.

Loyola's lineup saw some changes at the beginning of the day. Sophomore Kala Emanuelli having recovered from her illness, reclaimed her spot at the No. 1 position alongside Samantha Guillotte. The No. 2 position featured a new duo, Madeline Corrall and Juliana Pacini, making their debut together. Similarly, The No. 3 position showcased another new pair, Samantha Ingram and Juliet Petruzelli. However, Loyola failed to secure any of the five dual points in the first match. 

Nicholls maintained their lineup for the second match while Loyola's lineup underwent further changes. The No. 3 and No. 4 flights from the previous dual were swapped. Additionally, freshman Alexa Palmer made her very first appearance in the lineup at the No. 5 position alongside fellow freshman Isabella Rodrigue. Although Emanuelli and Guillotte pushed their match to 3 sets, the Wolf Pack also dropped the second match 5-0.

Looking ahead, the Loyola Beach Volleyball team will be back competing in NAIA matches next weekend in Hattiesburg, Miss., facing off against two Sun Conference opponents, Truett McConnell and St. Andrews. The doubleheader is scheduled to start at 10 a.m. on March 15.
