GULF SHORES, Ala. – Loyola's beach volleyball team capped off the 2024 conference season with a 7-3 record, securing a 4-1 victory in the final conference match of the season against Southeastern (Fla.).Â
Following two tough losses on Friday, the Wolf Pack was determined to bounce back Saturday. Loyola's No. 4 pairing of Samantha Ingram and Juliet Petruzelli got things going with a 21-11, 18-21, 15-13 win. The No. 5 pairing of Emily Sheperis and Gabby Masiello then extended Loyola's lead 2-1 after their 21-17, 21-7 victory.
The dual was clinched by the No. 1 pairing of Samantha Guillotte and Kala Emanuelli 21-18, 21-18. Shortly after, the No. 3 pairing of Rosemary Vanney and Preslie Boswell finished the dual score 4-1 by winning in a third set 12-21, 21-19, 15-13.Â
This is the Wolf Pack's most successful conference campaign to date, which will help fuel them to bring home Loyola's first ever Sun Conference Beach Volleyball Championship. The tournament is scheduled to begin Friday, April 5 in Bradenton, Fla. In the meantime, the Pack will fine tune their skills at the University of Southern Mississippi tournament in Hattiesburg, Miss., where they will be playing two NCAA Division-I schools and four matches overall.Â
