KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of the Intercollegiate Athletes released its final Coaches' Top 25 Poll of the season on Friday, listing the Loyola Wolf Pack women's golf team as the 12th-ranked team in the NAIA. Last week's ranking marks the 40th consecutive poll the team has appeared in, as the Pack moved up two spots ahead of next week's NAIA National Championship.
The NAIA released the field of the championship tournament last week, and it's the fifth straight year the program will compete for the NAIA team title. The Wolf Pack had a program-best fifth-place finish last season.
Loyola competed in just one tournament since the last Top 25 was released, placing second at the Southern States Athletic Conference Championship last month. The team led the tournament after the first and second rounds, but No. 2 Dalton State finished strong to take the title. The third-place finisher, No. 6 William Carey, makes it three SSAC teams in the rankings as well.
Prior to the championship, Catherine Singletary, Lainey Cristan, Blair McKenzie and Emma Smithers were all named to the SSAC All-Conference Second Team, while Kaitlyn Montoya was chosen as the league's Newcomer of the Year and Singletary made the All-Freshman team.
The NAIA National Championship will take place May 23-26 at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Illinois.
