Loyola beach volleyball opened three-match homestand Friday

KENNER, La. – The Loyola University New Orleans beach volleyball team faced Ave Maria in a Friday home match at Coconut Beach. 

 

In the first match of a three-game homestand against opponents from The Sun Conference, Loyola lost 4-1. 

 

The one victory came from Brittany Cooper and Samantha Ingram, who battled back from a set down to win in three sets. The pair has won four matches this season, leading the team with a 4-2 record at flight 3. 

 

Kiarelis Martinez and Emily Sheperis also came back to force a third set at flight 4, but they couldn't complete the comeback win. 

 

The conference schedule continues for the Wolf Pack tomorrow with a doubleheader against two Florida schools at Coconut Beach. Loyola will take on Florida Memorial University at 9 a.m. and St. Thomas University at noon.
