Meral remains in Top 5 after SSAC Championship second round

GREENVILLE, ALA. – The Southern States Athletic Conference Women's Golf Championship continued on Tuesday with the second round, and the No. 8 Loyola Wolf Pack remains in third place on the team leaderboard. 
 

The Pack carded a second-round 324 on the day, and their tournament score sits at 645 (+69). No. 2 Dalton State (+14) remains in the lead, and No. 7 William Carey (+47) is in second. 
 

Sarah Meral moved into third place on the individual leaderboard with a two-round total of 149 (+5) after a second-round 74 (+2), and Aaliyah Achary stays put in the Top 10 with another 77 (+5) to move her tournament score to 154 (+10). 
 

Meral started her day with a bogey on the second and a birdie on the fifth to sit even-par through seven holes. She'd finish her front nine with back-to-back birdies on the eighth and ninth, then remained two-under until a tough stretch on the back nine put her score at 2-over through 16. Back-to-back pars would finish her round and move the senior up a couple of spots on the individual leaderboard. 
 

Achary had one birdie, one bogey, and seven pars on the card after nine holes, then back-to-back bogeys on the 11th and 12th, followed by a birdie on the 14th, had Achary 1-over through 17 holes. However, Achary found trouble on the 18th to end her day. 
 

Catherine Singletary is tied for 15th with a tournament score of 166 (+22), carding a second-round 82 (+10), and Evie Siskis is tied for 27th (+34). Alyssa Moncada subbed in on Tuesday and shot a 92 (+20)
