No. 19 Wolf Pack wraps up Seahawk Shootout Tuesday

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. – Up against a field of nine other teams inside the NAIA Top 25 rankings or just outside in the receiving votes category, the 19th-ranked Loyola Wolf Pack women's golf team finished their first tournament of the season in eighth place out of 17 teams. Loyola carded a three-round total of 951 (+87) at Keiser University's Seahawk Shootout at PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. 
 

Six of the seven teams that finished in front of the Wolf Pack on the team leaderboard are all in the Top 10 of the national rankings. No. 1 Keiser won the event (+45), with No. 4 Marion (+60) and No. 6 Dalton State (+62) just behind. No. 7 SCAD Atlanta took fourth (+73), and No. 3 SCAD Savannah (+75), NCAA Division II Palm Beach Atlantic (+76), and No. 7 William Carey (+78) finished fifth through seventh. 
 

Catherine Singletary moved back up the individual leaderboard with a 3-over day on Tuesday. Her third-round 75 moved her back up into the Top 10 with a solo sixth finish (+13). It's the 16th career Top 10 placement for the senior, too, and maintains her fourth position in the program record books for career Top 10 finishes. The League City, Texas, native started the day 4-over through her first four holes, then she rebounded by finishing the final 14 holes 1-under with three birdies on her card. 
 

Sarah Meral and Johanna Haver both placed 31st (+22) after rounds of 86 and 78, respectively. Aaliyah Achary moved up a couple of spots to 56th (+32) and Evie Sisk (+42) took 76th to finish off Loyola's scoring. 
 

The Wolf Pack is back in action next week when they make the trip to Hattiesburg, Mississippi, to compete in the Carey Collegiate. Tournament play begins on Monday and continues on Tuesday from Canebrake Country Club.
