Felix earns NAIA All-America nod

Garrett Felix became the program’s first-ever NAIA All-American to receive a first, second or third team honor

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The American Baseball Coaches Association and Rawlings Sporting Goods, in conjunction with the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics, announced the 2025 NAIA All-America teams on Wednesday, and Garrett Felix represented Loyola University New Orleans on the Third Team to mark the first time for the Wolf Pack program.

Felix is the first-ever first, second or third team honoree in program history, and he joins Doug Neill (2002), Luis Anguizola (2016) and Payton Alexander (2021), who were all Honorable Mention recipients, as Loyola's NAIA All-America honorees.

The Scott, Louisiana, native joined the Wolf Pack this season as a graduate student, playing the last three seasons at NCAA Division I Nicholls State University. After hitting better than .300 in 155 career games with the Colonels, he led Loyola with a .406 average and a .509 on-base percentage to finish his collegiate career. Felix totaled 86 hits (second in program history for a single season), 67 runs (third), 51 RBI, 43 walks, and he only struck out 21 times in 212 at-bats.

He recorded a hit in 49 of Loyola's 60 games, which includes 26 multi-hit games. His 4-for-5 performance with two RBI and two runs scored against William Carey helped Loyola capture the SSAC title, and he went 6-for-13 with six RBI and two runs in the Pack's three games at the World Series.

Felix helped lead Loyola to a program-record 42 wins, the program's first SSAC Championship victory, and the first-ever trip to the NAIA World Series. He was named Loyola Athletics' Male Athlete of the Year and to the SSAC All-Conference Second Team in April, then earned SSAC Championship MVP honors in May before the Wolf Pack's historic NAIA National Championship tournament run.
