Mooney named to NAIA World Series All-Tournament Team

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics announced its 2025 Avista NAIA World Series All-Tournament Team, and Loyola's Brandon Mooney was honored as the second baseman selection. 
 

Since this was Loyola's first trip to the World Series, Mooney became the first student-athlete in program history to earn this honor. The Wolf Pack went 1-2 in the tournament with a win over No. 24 British Columbia. They also had the tying run at the plate in the ninth inning in both losses to stay competitive. 
 

Mooney started the week with a 1-for-4 with an RBI and a walk, then turned in a 4-for-4 performance with three runs, two doubles, and a home run in the win over UBC. He capped off his week by going 2-for-6 against Cumberlands in the Wolf Pack's final game. 
 

The Madisonville, Louisiana, native helped lead Loyola to a historic season after winning the SSAC Championship tournament and a World Series berth, both of which were the first in the program's history. He finished the 2025 campaign with a school record 91 hits and 81 runs scored, adding a .386 batting average, 48 RBI, 26 doubles and five home runs.
