KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Louisiana Sports Writers Association released its All-Louisiana teams on Monday, and both Garrett Felix and Brandon Mooney represented the Wolf Pack among the best college baseball players in the state. Felix was voted to the Second Team for his first career honor, while Mooney was an honorable mention after being on the First Team in 2023.Â
Â
All-Louisiana honorees were voted on by the state's sports information directors and members of the media. All collegiate baseball players at Louisiana institutions are eligible.Â
Â
Felix, a Nicholls State transfer, capped off a remarkable season for Loyola New Orleans baseball in 2025, earning national and conference honors while helping lead the Wolf Pack to one of the most successful years in program history.Â
Â
Starting all 60 games, Felix earned the program's first-ever NAIA All-America Third Team selection and was recognized as Loyola Athletics' Male Athlete of the Year. He received SSAC Championship MVP honors, made the SSAC Second Team All-Conference, and was named to the SSAC All-Academic Team. Offensively, Felix posted a team-best .406 batting average, along with 86 hits, 67 runs scored, 51 RBI, 16 doubles, three triples and four home runs. He finished the season with a .509 on-base percentage and added 26 multi-hit games, including three four-hit performances. His 86 hits rank second-most in a single season in program history, and his 67 runs scored rank third all-time.Â
Â
The Scott, Louisiana, native shined brightest in the postseason, going 8-for-15 during the SSAC Championship tournament, including a 4-for-5, two-RBI performance in the title game, en route to his MVP award. He followed that up with a 6-for-13 showing at the NAIA World Series, collecting six RBI and two runs scored.
Â
Mooney delivered a historic campaign for Loyola as well, starting all 60 games at second base and earning SSAC First Team All-Conference honors (his third straight) as well as selection to the Avista NAIA World Series All-Tournament Team.Â
Â
The Madisonville, Louisiana, native opened the season with a standout series, hitting a combined 7-for-9 with five doubles, four runs and three RBI against LSU Alexandria, earning SSAC Player of the Week honors. Mooney closed the year hitting .386 with 91 hits and 81 runs, both program single-season records, while adding 48 RBI, 26 doubles, five home runs, a triple, and 20 stolen bases. He excelled in the postseason as well, going 7-for-14 in the World Series with four runs and two RBI—including a 4-for-4 game with a homer and two doubles—and delivering key performances during the SSAC Tournament. His consistent elite play helped anchor the leadoff spot, and by season's end, Mooney stood among the program's all-time leaders in career runs (217), doubles (54), hits, and RBI.
