NEW ORLEANS – The Wolf Pack sent a small group to the New Orleans Triangular meet at Tad Gormley Stadium on Saturday. However, the Maroon and Gold showed out in a big way with three nationally-qualifying performances, totaling six performances of that caliber on the season. Tenosh Landry, Eric Griffin, and Jonell Scott will join Caleb Curry, Jordyn Minor, Ollie Brumfield IV, Bryce Darensbourg, and Dallas Hughes at the NAIA National Championships in Marion, Indiana, starting on Wednesday, May 21.

Before Loyola heads out to the NAIA National Championships, the Wolf Pack will close out the regular season on Friday, May 9, when the teams will travel to Hattiesburg, Mississippi, to compete at William Carey University.Â

Tenosh Landry had a stellar performance on Saturday, earning a first-place finish of a record-breaking 1.71 meters. Landry posted the best mark in program history, in addition to earning NAIA A Standard qualification. Landry's 1.71-meter performance is tied for the sixth-best among all NAIA athletes. The freshman becomes the second member of the Wolf Pack women's track and field team to qualify for the NAIA National Championships.

After previously achieving an NAIA B Standard mark in the 400-meter hurdles, Caleb Curry strengthened his previous best by earning a second-place performance of 52.23. Curry improved his previous program record by over a second, also earning A Standard qualification. Curry's newest time is the ninth-best performance in the NAIA.

Loyola's 4x100-meter men's relay squad notched a B standard qualifying mark of 41.12 in Saturday's race. Eric Griffin, Ollie Brumfield IV, Dallas Hughes, and Jonell Scott will join Landry and Curry in Marion, Indiana on Wednesday, May 21. The team established a program record, too, beating out last week's previous program best by over 0.6 seconds.

Top 3 Finish

Kaitlyn Becnel claimed another top-three finish for the Wolf Pack. The graduate student competed in the high jump, recording a height of 1.60 meters.Â

Olivia Leroux took first place in the javelin throw, reaching a distance of 33.22 meters in the event. Leroux's 33.22-meter performance is the fifth-best mark in the Loyola record book, giving her two of the top five spots in program history. Sofia DiVincenti and Andrea Bardales ended the event in second and third, receiving marks of 29.31 meters and 18.16 meters, respectively.

Jace Luckoski ended the 800-meter run with a third-place finish. The sophomore notched a time of 2:00.55.

Willem Lang was Loyola's third event winner of the meet. The junior completed the javelin throw with a distance of 47.75 meters.
