BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Loyola men's and women's indoor track and field teams made their way to the Birmingham CrossPlex to compete in UAB's Green and Gold Invitational. The Wolf Pack competed against teams from across the Southern United States and all divisions of athletics, including NCAA Division I opponents. The Wolf Pack had two program records on Saturday, after having one program best in the McNeese State Invite last week.

The Wolf Pack will travel to Gainesville, Florida, for the final meet of the season in the SSAC Championships. The two-day meet at the Alachua County Center will begin on Friday, Feb. 14 and conclude on Saturday, Feb. 15.

For the second consecutive meet, Jasmine Martinez broke a program record. Last week, the graduate student achieved the program record in the 800-meter run at McNeese State. This week, Martinez broke the record in the 3,000-meter run for her second program best overall, notching a time of 11:04.72 for a 10th-place finish among 30 competitors. Martinez surpassed the previous program best by over 10 seconds.

Joseph Medina broke his first-ever program record for Loyola, earning a program mark of 1:59.52 and a 14th-place finish in the 800m run. The sophomore Medina is the first and only Loyola runner to complete the 800-meter run in under two minutes, beating out the graduate student Alex Medina, who holds the third, fourth, and fifth-best times in the 800-meter race.

Jordyn Minor had two strong performances on Saturday, receiving a 7.78 time in the preliminary round of the 60-meter dash, then leaping a distance of 5.50 meters in the long jump. Minor's 11th-place mark of 7.78 seconds is tied for the fourth-best time in program history. In the long jump, Minor's 5.50 meters earned her fifth place in the event and the fifth-best spot in Loyola's record book.

In the preliminary round of the 60-meter hurdles, Madison Ackerman raced a time of 10.53, receiving 40th place in the event. Ackerman's time of 10.53 n the 60-meter hurdles logs as the fifth-best mark in program history.

Olivia Leroux earned 17th place in the 600-meter run, posting a time of 1:45.49. After setting the fifth-best mark in the 600-meter run at McNeese, Leroux surpassed that by nearly five seconds this week to earn the second-best performance in the 600-meter event with a 1:45.49 time.

In the triple jump, Jenna Galeas leaped a total distance of 10.10 meters, getting a 19th-place finish in the event. Galeas' performance of 10.10 meters is the fifth-best mark in the triple jump in Loyola's record book.

Jonell Scott ran a 7.09 time to receive 21st place in the preliminary round of the 60-meter dash on Saturday. Scott's 7.09 time is the fifth-best mark in Loyola's history, becoming the second top-five performance for the freshman.Â

Dallas Hughes ran a time of 51.82 in the 600-meter run, getting 34th place in the event. Hughes' 51.82 time is the fourth-best mark for 600-meter run in the Wolf Pack record book.

In the mile run, Jacob Kennedy received the 19th place with a 4:27.20 time. Kennedy's 4:27.20 mark is the third-best in program history for the mile run. Jace Luckoski finished in 26th place in the same event, notching a time of 4:29.05. Luckoski's 4:29.05 time also earned a spot in the record book, becoming the fourth-best performance in the record book.

Mason Stringer recorded a 12.53-meter distance in the triple jump, getting 17th place in the event. The Slidell, Louisiana, native's 12.53-meter mark earned him the fifth-best performance in Loyola's record book. The sophomore now holds four of the top-five performances in the triple jump in the Wolf Pack record book.

The Loyola men's relay A team of Caleb Curry, Ollie Brumfield IV, Joseph Medina, and Dallas Hughes notched the second-best time in program history for the 4x400-meter relay on Saturday. The team ran a 10th-place time of 3:25.78, less than half of a second short of the program record. The Loyola B team of Mason Mack, Chase Rogers, Carter Dural, and Bryce Darensbourg ran a 15th-place mark of 3:30.79. The Loyola B team's time of 3:30.79 is the fourth-best spot in Loyola's record book.
