MOBILE, Ala. – The Loyola Wolf Pack women's tennis team closed out the crossover challenge between the Southern States, Sun, and Appalachian conferences on Saturday, staying undefeated on the season with a 4-0 sweep of SCAD Savannah. The meeting Saturday was a rematch of the Round of 16 at the 2024 NAIA National Championship.

The Wolf Pack continued their best start in program history, capturing the team's fourth win of the spring in a tough schedule. After opening the season with NCAA D-I Nicholls, the Pack won three ranked NAIA matches this week: No. 24 SCAD Atlanta, No. 14 St. Thomas (Fla.), and No. 8 SCAD Savannah, with the two matches against the SCAD teams going to Loyola in 4-0 sweeps.

After Micaela Ponce and Adele Fereres started off the match with a perfect 6-0 court 3 win, Saturday's doubles point came down to court 1, and Loyola's top doubles team of Lucy Carpenter and Chloe Henderson got it done again, winning 6-4. The pair is 4-0 so far this season.

In singles, Juliette Finch got things started with her first win as a member of the Wolf Pack, 6-4, 6-0 on court 6. Chloe Henderson completed a 3-0 week in singles with a straight-sets win at court 2. Then Adele Fereres finished things off again, clinching the match on court 4 against the NAIA's No. 30-ranked singles player, Adeline Flanagan.

Henderson and Fereres both went 3-0 in their singles matches this week. Carpenter (1-0) and Avrora Volkova (2-0) both also went undefeated in singles in Mobile this week, and both were ahead by a set in their unfinished matches.

Loyola's tennis teams will play an exhibition against Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College on Tuesday next week before returning to NAIA competition on Friday with a match at Dillard.

Head Coach Matt Llewellyn

"We went to Mobile to prove we are a legitimate top tier team in NAIA. We accomplished that. Going 3-0 against top 25 teams, only dropping 2 total points was dominant. Our team created a super loud, supportive environment in all matches which was awesome to experience.

Avrora and Chloe played confident to get us quick singles wins for scoreboard pressure. Lucy doing what she always does as arguably the best player in NAIA. Ponce finding her form today and almost clinching. Juliette getting her first win for the Pack this week. Adele continues to be our rock and match clincher. Ana and Reilly inspiring and supporting us through close matches. We truly play for each other. It's a total team effort.

We're excited to share more of these moments together. We now know who we are as a team and we need to showcase that no matter what comes our way this season."
