Minor makes second career trip to NAIA Indoor Championships

Loyola Track and Field will have a representative in Gainesville, Florida, this week

NEW ORLEANS – Jordyn Minor will head to the NAIA Indoor Championships for the second consecutive year. The sophomore will represent the Wolf Pack indoor track and field teams in the long jump, qualifying for nationals at the SSAC Championships. Minor is set to compete in the long jump at 1 p.m. EST on Friday, Feb. 28, at the Alachua County Center in Gainesville, Florida.

Minor qualified for the national championships with a third-place finish of 5.60 meters in the long jump at the SSAC Championships. The sophomore earned Third Team All-Conference with the performance, along with achieving the third-best distance in program history. Earning NAIA B Standard qualification, Minor's 5.60-meter performance is also tied for the 30th-best mark in the nation.
 

The Baton Rouge, Louisiana, native posted a 5.47-meter jump at the 2024 NAIA Indoor Championships, which placed 10th nationally. Minor also holds Loyola's all-time record of 5.92 meters in the long jump, setting the program-best at the Bleu Devils Indoor Classic in 2024.
 

Minor competed in three meets in her second season, posting her best long jump performance of the season at the conference championships. Minor was also named a member of the Barnes & Noble College All-Academic Team by the Southern States Athletic Conference.
