KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics released its first in-season Women's Golf Coaches Top 25 on Friday, and the Loyola Wolf Pack made a significant jump to No. 9 in the rankings after opening the season at No. 19. The appearance marked the 55th consecutive poll for the Loyola women's golf program, as well as the team's highest ranking since the end of the 2021-22 season.
Loyola joins two other teams in the Southern States Athletic Conference in the top 10, as Dalton State moved up to No. 3 nationally while William Carey remained at No. 8.
The Pack has played in two tournaments so far this season, placing eighth in the Seahawk Shootout and third in the Carey Collegiate, both in September. Each event featured multiple nationally ranked NAIA programs. The highlight of the season so far came at William Carey's home tournament when Loyola finished ahead of No. 8 William Carey and then-No. 9 Lindsey Wilson.
Senior Catherine Singletary finished in sixth place at the Seahawk Shootout for her 16th career Top 10 finish, and Aaliyah Achary had a fourth-place finish at the Carey Collegiate for her first career Top 5 placement of her short Loyola career. Singletary is ranked No. 18 in the Scoreboard NAIA Individual Rankings, and Achary (No. 38) and Sarah Meral (No. 44) give the Wolf Pack three golfers in the Top 50 nationally.
The fall schedule comes to an end later this month when Loyola plays in the ALC Eagle Invite Oct. 27-28 in Cohutta, Georgia.
