Box Score

PANAMA CITY, Fla. – The Loyola University New Orleans men's basketball team suffered its first loss of the season on Wednesday, losing to Florida College, 92-65, on the final day of the Battle at the Beach tournament.

The loss moves the Wolf Pack to 7-1 overall and it was the first loss for the program since January 17. They'll be back in regular-season action Thursday, Dec. 1, at home against Southern States Athletic Conference rival William Carey, but they'll also play another exhibition against an NCAA Division I team, Louisiana, Tuesday at 7 p.m.

The Falcons came out of the gates red-hot, shooting a blistering 72 percent (13-for-18) in the first 10-plus minutes of the game. By that point, Florida College had built a 31-9 advantage over Loyola, which got 3-pointers from Milan Mejia and Zachary Lee and another score by Michael Harden during that time.

The Pack rebounded by playing a better next 10 minutes, but they couldn't make up any ground on the Falcons by halftime. Jalen Galloway scored six of Loyola's final 16 points of the half, as it went into the locker room down 46-25.

Loyola shot better in the second half, but the deficit was too much to overcome. Four different Wolf Pack players scored in the first four minutes, as Galloway, Muller, Lee and Matthew Mondesir all scored. Mondesir was the first player in double figures, hitting a 3-pointer at the 10-minute mark, but again, the Falcons didn't allow for any type of Loyola run.

Florida College was 18-for-37 (48.6 percent) from the floor in the second half, including 7-for-15 from 3, while the Wolf Pack was a respectable 13-for-28 (46.4 percent).
