Nadja Ochsner earns victories in both singles and doubles to highlight the day, but the Pack were only able to get one other singles win
NEW ORLEANS – The No. 20 Loyola University New Orleans women's tennis team continued their four-match homestand on Friday in City Park, falling 6-3 to NCAA Division-I Binghamton University.
"I thought we probably learned more from this match than any other this season," said head coach Kyle Russell. "The girls finally got into a growth mindset and saw things clearly. Good awareness of what was going on with good tactical adjustments. This could be one of those matches we look back on as a watershed moment."
The duo of Koral Martinez and Nadja Ochsner started the day off well for the Wolf Pack (7-6) with an 8-1 doubles. The Bearcats (2-16), however, earned the other two doubles victories to claim the doubles point and head into singles play up 1-0.
Ochsner also won her singles match on court four in 6-4, 6-4 fashion, and Gabrielle Terranova earned a 7-5, 6-2 victory on court five, but the Bearcats won on every remaining court, finishing the match with a 5-2 result.
The Wolf Pack close out their homestand with a 4 p.m. match at City Park against No. 22 Lewis-Clark State, whom the Pack defeated 8-1 when the teams met last season.
