Box Score Kaila Anthony led all scorers with 20 points against the ranked opponent
ALEXANDRIA, La. – The Loyola University New Orleans women's basketball team defeated No. 23 ranked LSU-Alexandria 81-80 on the road Saturday afternoon.
It was the first ranked win that the team picked up this season as it moves to 3-0.
Coming off of a 10-day hiatus from the previous game, the Wolf Pack trailed for most of the first half and went into the break down by seven, 45-38.
Loyola regrouped and chipped away at LSU-Alexandria's lead for much of the third quarter, outscoring the Generals 24-15 and taking a 60-62 lead.
The Wolf Pack never lost its lead in the fourth quarter, but the Generals threatened late in the game as they pulled within one point, 73-74, with 1:38 remaining in the game.
Loyola sealed the deal as a team offensive rebound with just 12 seconds remaining set up a field goal for Presley Wascom that would put the Wolf Pack up 81-78.
Loyola will return to action on Thursday, November 21, for a 5:30 p.m. home game matchup against No. 16 Bethel.
