Wolf Pack Take Down Crusaders With 30-Point Win

Box Score

Yet another double-double from Megan Worry, and strong games by Paige Franckiewicz and Kaila Anthony give Loyola their third-straight victory

NEW ORLEANS – The Loyola University New Orleans women's basketball team put on a dominant display in The Den Monday evening, never trailing in a 76-46 victory over William Carey.

Paige Frankciewicz set the tone early, knocking down one of her several three-pointers for the game's first points as the Wolf Pack (14-5, 8-2 SSAC) took a lead they would the remainder of the evening. The Crusaders (6-8, 5-5 SSAC) responded with a layup, but Loyola then scored six straight points to take 9-2 lead. Back-to back triples from Franckiewicz and Worry extended the lead to double digits less than five minutes into the contest, and the Pack would hold a 23-8 at the end of the first quarter.

Loyola steadily increased its lead throughout the second quarter, taking a 31-13 lead at the four-minute mark of the period.  While the visitors chipped away, the Pack would take a substantial 14-point lead into the halftime break, leading 39-25.

While the Crusaders would score eight quick points in the first three minutes of the third quarter, the Wolf Pack defense held the visitors scoreless for the remainder of the period. An 18-0 Loyola run to end the quarter would push their lead up to 26 points headed into the final 10 minutes of play.

The Wolf Pack would remain out in front of William Carey through the fourth quarter, climbing out by as much as 32. Yet another dominating period of play from the home team would help Kellie Kennedy's team secure their third consecutive win, and move to 8-2 in conference play.
