Box Score Worry scores 15 while grabbing 13 boards with four blocks while Wascom drops 20
NEW ORLEANS – In a conference game featuring a pair of schools receiving votes in the latest NAIA top-25 poll, the Loyola University New Orleans women's basketball team defeated Martin Methodist 64-57 Saturday afternoon in The Den.
The Wolf Pack (13-5, 7-2) opened up the contest with a quick 5-0 advantage, with Presley Wascom later responding to the RedHawks' (13-7, 7-3) first score on a three. After the visitors made it an 11-8 game in favor of Loyola, a three and subsequent layup from Megan Worry put the Pack up 16-8 with three minutes left in the quarter. The home team would hold on to their advantage through the remainder of the period, taking a 21-13 lead into the first break.
Loyola was able to keep Martin Methodist at bay in the second quarter, climbing out in front by 11 on one of Presley Wascom's four makes from three. While the visitors chipped away at the Pack's lead, Loyola entered the locker rooms at the break up 33-26.
To open the third quarter, the RedHawks drew the game even at 35-35 just a minute and a half in after a 9-2 run to open the period. The visiting team would claim their first lead of the game moments later, before the game reached another draw at 38-all with just over five minutes remaining in the third. Another make from beyond the arc by Wascom returned the advantage back to Loyola, and Kaila Anthony added two more baskets as the Pack scored seven unanswered. The RedHawks would climb back, however, tying the game at 47-apiece heading into the final period.
By the midway point of the fourth quarter, Loyola would take a 56-50 lead after opening up a 9-3 run. The visitors cut the lead to three points with under a minute to go, but Megan Worry sealed the 64-57 home victory by going a perfect 4-4 from the free throw line in the final minute of the game.

With the win today, the Wolf Pack have picked up nine wins in their past 10 games.
Megan Worry blocked four shots today, surpassing the 100-mark for her career and moving her total to 103, which ranks second in program history.
The senior also posted her eighth double-double of the year with 15 points and 13 rebounds, passing Di'Mond Jackson on the career rebound list at eighth.
Presley Wascom scored a career-best 20 points today and was 4-6 from the three-point line.
For the third game this season, Kaila Anthony collected five steals, and leads the team with 37 total on the year.
