MACON, Ga. - The Loyola University New Orleans women's basketball team claimed their second conference victory this weekend on the road, defeating Middle Georgia State 82-65 Saturday in the Morris Gym.
The Lady Knights (5-16, 2-10) were first to score in today's contest, but Di'Mond Jackson promptly drew the game at two-apiece after hitting two free throws. While the home team kept the game close for the first three minutes of play, the Wolf Pack (17-4, 9-1) began pulling away fast. Field goals by Woodson and Kaila Anthony to close out the first quarter would bring the score to 32-9 heading into the second, their second-highest point total in a single quarter this year.
After two made free throws by the home team, Woodson found Worry down low for a quick layup, with Worry returning the favor on the next possession, finding Woodson for a score. Loyola would continue their offensive tear, climbing out to a 31-point lead by halftime behind Franckiewicz's 14 points and Miller's nine assists.
