Box Score A 15-2 Wolf Pack run in the fourth quarter comes up short as they fall by three
NEW ORLEANS - Despite an impressive run near the end of the game, the Loyola University New Orleans women's basketball team fell by three to Xavier, 67-64 Tuesday afternoon in the Convocation Center.
Each team got off to a slow start in the first quarter offensively, with the Wolf Pack (0-2) trailing to begin the game. Tied at 11-all, Xavier (4-0) would sink a three-pointer to close out the first quarter to give themselves a 14-11 lead at the end of the first period.
In the second quarter, a three by Paige Franckiewicz gave Loyola the lead 22-19 with just under five minutes remaining in the half. However, the home team would go on a run to close out the period, with Loyola trailing at the break by 13, 39-26.
In the third quarter, the two teams would trade points back and forth, each scoring 14 to keep the 13-point Loyola deficit the same. In the final period however, the Pack would fight back, going on a 15-2 run to make it 59-55 with three minutes left to play.
As the minutes rolled off the clock and each team traded fouls and free throws, it came down to the final possession, as a game-tying three from Megan Worry came up short.
The Wolf Pack will return to The Den this weekend for the SSAC and Mid-South Challenge, taking on No. 3 Campbellsville Friday, November 9th at 6 p.m. before facing Pikeville on Saturday the 10th at 1 p.m.

Tay Cannon led the Pack in scoring tonight with a career-best 18 points.
The freshman shot an impressive seven for nine from the field.
Both Kaila Anthony and Megan Worry grabbed 10 boards to lead the Wolf Pack tonight.
Anthony added 11 points for her first double-double of the season.
Loyola climbed back into the game tonight with an impressive performance from the free throw line, shooting 20 for 23 from the charity stripe.
