Jackson's Triple-Double Leads Pack Past Brewton-Parker

Box Score

Wolf Pack set program record for points scored in a single game with 117

NEW ORLEANS - In their first game in over two weeks, the Loyola women's basketball team picked up right where they left off, with a 117-55 victory over Brewton Parker Thursday night in The Den.

In the opening minutes of tonight's game the Wolf Pack (11-3, 4-0) took a quick lead on two three-pointers by Zoie Miller and Paige Franckiewicz. Loyola would ride their opening hot streak, taking a double-digit lead over the visiting Lady Barons (3-9, 1-3) only five minutes through the first quarter. Miller's game-leading 10 points at that time would help give the Pack a 29-15 lead at the end of the first quarter.

In the second quarter, it was more Loyola, as the entire team chipped in to put up 31 in the quarter, and enter the half with a big lead, 60-30.

For the third consecutive quarter, Loyola would increase their point total, dropping 35 points led by Di'Mond Jackson's nine in the period.

Nearly touching 100 points through three quarters, Loyola continued to dominate from the floor,  closing out the game shooting 54.3 percent from the field on 38 of 70 shots.

With the final tally at the buzzer sitting at 117-55, Loyola set a new school record for total points scored in a game, breaking their previous record of 113 from a Nov. 29th, 2014 matchup with Brenau University. This also marked the first time since that same win over Brenau in 2014 that the Pack won by a margin of over 60 points.

While the team's leading scorer was Miller with 21, the Pack were lead on the court by Jackson, who collected her second career triple-double. The Baton Rouge, La. native finished with 18 points, 11 rebounds and 12 assists. Sophomore Paige Franckiewicz added another 20 points for Loyola on seven of 10 shooting with four shots made from beyond the arc.

Brewton-Parker was lead by Johnta Hughes who dropped in 10 points and added four rebounds.

Loyola will be back in action at home on Saturday, continuing conference play against Middle Georgia State University in The Den at 2 p.m
