(RV) Women's basketball takes care of Blue Mountain 95-56 on Saturday

Box Score

Franckiewicz's 15 points led four Wolf Pack players in double figures.

Coming off an 84-44 thumping of William Carey University on Thursday, the (RV) Loyola University New Orleans women's basketball team returned to First NBC Court on Saturday for a conference matchup against Blue Mountain College.

The Wolf Pack (16-4, 8-2 SSAC) looked equally as dominant in Saturday's contest as it did in Thursday's outing, as the home team held the Toppers to just 36% shooting from the floor en route to an impressive 93-56 victory in New Orleans.

Two three-pointers by sharpshooter Paige Franckiewicz (FR/Slidell, La.) sparked an 11-0 Wolf Pack run to start the game. With the score at 16-4, Meghan Temple (SR/Houston, Texas) and Di'Mond Jackson (JR/Baton Rouge, La.) connected on back-to-back baskets to push the Loyola advantage to 20-4 with just under four minutes to play in the opening quarter. The Wolf Pack managed to extend the cushion to as many as 17 points on two separate occasions in the first and eventually took the 15-point lead (31-16) into the second frame.

The Wolf Pack were up 43-27 at the 4:18 mark in the second quarter before an 8-0 run by the home squad gave Loyola its largest lead of the first half (51-27) with 1:16 remaining.  A layup by Temple with just three seconds left ended the first half with Loyola clinging to the 55-31 advantage at home.

If there were any doubts in the game entering the second half, the Wolf Pack quickly put them to rest in the third quarter. Following a jumper by Kaila Anthony (FR/Pflugerville, Texas) at the 2:11 mark, Loyola found itself up 36 points at 75-39. When the final buzzer of the third went off, the Wolf Pack was up by a comfortable 33 points.

Loyola was able to keep the Toppers no closer than 30 in the final quarter to grab the convincing 93-56 victory at home.

The Wolf Pack shot 48% from both the field (37-of-76) and the three-point line (7-of-11) against BMC while holding a dominating 53-29 rebounding advantage in the win.

Franckiewicz's 15 points (5-of-7 triples) led four Wolf Pack players in double figures.  Temple notched another double-double with 14 points and 11 boards while  Jackson put up 13 points, eight rebounds, and six assists in 26 minutes. Zoie Miller (JR/Frisco, Texas)'s 10 points led a Loyola bench unit that outscored Blue Mountain 39-19 on Saturday.

Madison McCreless and Parrish Tice both notched 12 points to pace the Toppers.

The Wolf Pack returns to First NBC Court on Thursday, Jan. 26, to face Brewton-Parker College at 5:30 p.m.
