Loyola women's basketball lockdown defensively on SSAC contender Blue Mountain College

Loyola University New Orleans women's basketball defeated Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) opponent Blue Mountain College 74-52 this afternoon in Mississippi.

(Blue Mountain, Miss.) Loyola University New Orleans women's basketball defeated Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) opponent Blue Mountain College 74-52 this afternoon in Mississippi. The Pack moves to 15-1 on the season and 7-1 in SSAC play.

Senior standout Janeicia Neely paced Loyola on offense with 24 points, going 9-of-13 from the field. Neely drained a career-high six of her seven three-point field goal attempts and grabbed five rebounds on the day. This is the fifth straight game that Neely has recorded double-digit point totals and in three of the past five games, she has garnered over 20 points. Sophomore Meghan Temple was also an offensive threat for the Wolf Pack, compiling 16 points on an astounding 80% shooting. Temple also came up big on defense, grabbing six boards and one block in the win. Junior Adrianne Sloboh shined on offense, recording a season-high 14 points. Sloboh also notched six rebounds on the day.

Blue Mountain College (9-6, 4-4 SSAC) struggled from the field, shooting a mere 29% and a staggering 15% from three-point range. Andrea Lewis led the Toppers on offense with 12 points, shooting 40% from the field, while Kati Prince contributed 10 points. Prince also guided the defense with a game-high nine rebounds.

The Wolf Pack connected on 45% of their attempts from the field and outrebounded the Toppers 50 to 32. Loyola also scored an impressive 40 points in the paint, compared to Blue Mountain's 20.

Loyola will return to New Orleans to take on cross-town rival Southern University at New Orleans (SUNO) on Wednesday, January 21 at 5:30 p.m. at SUNO. This will be the Wolf Pack's final non-conference game of the season.
