Landry, Minor honored as SSAC Scholar-Athletes

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Southern States Athletic Conference announced its Women's Track and Field Scholar-Athlete Team this week, and both Tenosh Landry and Jordyn Minor were both honored. It's Landry's first appearance on the SSAC Scholar-Athlete Team, and it's Minor's second. 
 

To be eligible, student-athletes must be a sophomore or above in both academic and athletic standing, must be starters or important reserves, have at least a 3.3 cumulative GPA, and have competed in 50 percent of competitions. Graduate students and transfers must have completed one semester at the school. 
 

Minor has posted a 3.95 GPA as a communications major, and Landry has a 3.83 in biology. 
 

Minor had three podium finishes at last month's SSAC Championships, claiming third place in the 100-meter dash (12.00), long jump (5.57 meters), and 4x100-meter relay (49.00). The Baton Rouge native competed in the NAIA Indoor National Championship, placing 22nd nationally in the long jump event, and she currently holds individual program records in the 100 (outdoor), long jump (outdoor & indoor), and 60 (indoor). 
 

Landry was the SSAC Champion in the high jump event with a leap of 1.70 meters, which earned her an NAIA Outdoor National Championship A standard qualifying mark. She was also a part of the 4x100-meter relay team that placed third at the conference championship meet. The Marrero native holds both the indoor and outdoor program records for the high jump as well.
