NEW ORLEANS – Loyola University New Orleans Athletics is proud to recognize competitive dance team member Alle Givens as the latest feature in the Pursuit of Excellence Spotlight, a series that highlights Wolf Pack student-athletes who embody Jesuit values through leadership, service, and the pursuit of excellence.

For Givens, the decision to attend Loyola was shaped by both familiarity and an immediate sense of belonging.

"I knew someone on the dance team, which initially drew me to Loyola, but once I visited, I really felt at home," Givens said. "I was excited about the opportunity to continue my dance journey at the college level, and it was also a big plus to stay close to home."

A mass communications major with a focus in journalism and a minor in Spanish, Givens has embraced her academic experience while preparing for a future centered around storytelling and communication.

"After college, I hope to pursue a career in journalism where I can combine storytelling with my passion for culture and communication," she said.

Throughout her time at Loyola, Givens has continued to grow as both a dancer and a person, crediting her experience as a student-athlete for shaping her development.

"Being a Loyola student-athlete means so much to me," Givens said. "I'm incredibly grateful for the opportunity to represent Loyola and continue dancing at the collegiate level. Being part of Loyola athletics has not only helped me grow as an athlete, but also as a student and person."

Her approach to daily life reflects a strong commitment to the Jesuit ideal of magis, striving to make the most of every opportunity.

"I apply these values by approaching each day as an opportunity," Givens said. "I recognize how fortunate I am to be able to attend school and participate in the sport I love, so I always try to give my best effort in everything I do. I never want to look back and feel like I could have given more."

Off the floor, Givens extends her impact through mentorship and campus involvement. She works at Lakeview Dance Company, where she teaches young dancers and emphasizes the importance of creating a positive and supportive environment.

"In the classroom, I apply values like respect, responsibility, and leadership to create a safe, positive, and fun environment for my students," Givens said.

Givens is also an active member of Gamma Phi Beta, where she continues to live out the Champions of Character values through her involvement and philanthropic efforts with Girls on the Run.

Her resilience and leadership have been especially evident this season, as she returned from injury and stepped into a key leadership role for the program. Head coach Courtney Cadore praised Givens for her impact both on and off the floor.

"Alle embodies a true commitment to excellence," Cadore said. "She returned from an injury stronger and more determined while leading the team with purpose as captain this season. She was also selected as our Champions of Character representative at Nationals because she consistently models integrity, respect, responsibility, and sportsmanship in everything she does. Her involvement on campus and dedication to serving others reflect her genuine servant leadership and strong ethical character. Alle leads by example, uplifting those around her and setting the standard for what it means to represent our program with faith, humility, and pride."

Through her dedication to dance, academics, and service, Givens represents the best of Loyola Athletics. Her commitment to growth, leadership, and uplifting others embodies the spirit of the Pursuit of Excellence Spotlight.
