The Loyola University New Orleans Overwatch 2 squad delivered a dominant performance against Wright State, battling across Busan, Midtown, and Suravasa in an action-packed collegiate series.
Map 1: Busan (Control)
Loyola set the tone early on Busan, capturing the opening map with an authoritative 2–0 sweep.
Round 1 – Sanctuary
Loyola wasted no time establishing control with Steven "Quorked" Litkenhaus anchoring the frontline on Junker Queen and Matthew "Zhaye" Marshall applying flank pressure on Tracer. Braden "Tato" Garfield's Sombra hacked key health packs and disrupted Wright State's positioning, while Maya "Siren" Hernandez provided steady sustain on Kiriko without conceding a single death.
Conner "Takeout" Zimmerman locked down sightlines on Cassidy, enabling Loyola to capture and systematically repel every Raider push for a flawless 100%–0% shutout.
Round 2 – MEKA Base
With Marshall swapping over to Genji alongside Litkenhaus's Junker Queen, Garfield's Sombra, Zimmerman's Cassidy, and Hernandez's Kiriko, Wright State answered with an initial push, capturing the objective first and building a 33% advantage.
Loyola regrouped for a synchronized attack, executing a complete team wipe to flip the point. Zimmerman then took over the round on Cassidy, amassing a 15-player elimination streak and using Deadeye to shut down Wright State's rotations.
Despite an Overtime contest by the Raiders at 99%, Loyola stood tall on the point to seal the round 100%–33% and claim Map 1.
Map 2: Midtown (Hybrid)
Switching to Midtown, Loyola displayed balanced offensive execution and a resilient second-half hold to take a 3–1 map victory.
Attack Round – First Half
Opening on offense as Team 2, Loyola fielded Litkenhaus on Junker Queen, Marshall on Echo, Zimmerman on Sierra, Garfield on Ana, and Hernandez on Mercy.
The squad broke through the opening choke beneath the Midtown overpass, capturing Objective A at 1:33. Pushing the fire truck payload into the streets and through Grand Central Station, Loyola maintained unrelenting escort momentum, steering the payload to the final terminus with 3:50 remaining on the clock to post a full three points.
Defense Round – Second Half
Defending their three-point benchmark, Loyola retooled its composition with Litkenhaus on Junker Queen, Marshall on Junkrat, Zimmerman on Sierra, Garfield on Jetpack Cat, and Hernandez on Kiriko.
While Wright State managed an initial breakthrough to claim Objective A, Loyola's defense locked down the ensuing street phase.
Marshall's explosive area denial on Junkrat and aerial disruption from Garfield's Jetpack Cat stalled the payload well short of the second checkpoint. As the clock ran out in Overtime, Loyola executed a decisive collapse at the 95.24-meter mark, securing a Team Kill to halt the Raiders and secure the 3–1 map win.
Map 3: Suravasa (Flashpoint)
The series concluded on Suravasa, where Loyola closed out the sweep behind a steady composition of Litkenhaus on Jetpack Cat, Marshall on Bastion, Zimmerman on Shion, Garfield on Winston, and Hernandez on Ana.
Flashpoint 1 – Market
Following extended neutral skirmishes through the market pathways, Garfield's Winston initiated the engagement to help Loyola seize control at 2:09.
Backed by long-range support from Hernandez's Ana and sustained fire from Marshall's Bastion, Loyola fended off Wright State's late Overtime push to secure the opening point 100%–19%.
Flashpoint 2 – Palace
Wright State mounted its fiercest surge of the match on the second flashpoint, capturing Palace early and running the meter all the way to 92%.
Facing an imminent shutout, Loyola engineered a dramatic turnaround. Marshall deployed Bastion's Configuration: Artillery to blanket the objective while Garfield leaped directly into the Raiders' core on Winston.
The combined assault shattered Wright State's hold, allowing Loyola to contest, wipe the point, and complete a stunning comeback flip.
Flashpoint 3 – Garden
Carrying all the momentum into Garden, Loyola seized the zone immediately and suffocated any counterplay from the Raiders, racing out to a 100%–0% clean sweep.
As Wright State attempted one last desperate contest, Garfield dove into the opposing backline on Winston to trigger a final Team Kill, putting an exclamation mark on an emphatic series sweep.
